This is an embed of a video of a Zoom session I had with potential United World College scholarships applicants in Nepal. Having had my own experiences at a UWC put me on the path to make me into the person I have become today, I share the details from my life experiences to convince them to apply for a UWC scholarship.
On December 30, 2019, I made a presentation at a school to about 60 people. I shared my journey from Nepal starting as someone our society had written off as a nobody and wouldn't amount to much to becoming the person I am today -- a human being first -- and some of the most important life lessons I have learned. The reason for doing so? To inspire children to dream big and to reach for that which they have been told they can't or shouldn't, or to become that which they have been told they can't.
From the late nineties, I have always wished that Nepal UWC committee would be able to send children from poor and/or marginalized backgrounds. All the time I have been involved in the committee, I have done what little I could to make that happen. This is the story of the things I did and the little gains we have made so far to that end.
