I have a little nephew at home. I believe that the world he will inherit will be the world we leave behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I do both at home in Nepal and elsewhere is to contribute my bit to leaving behind for children like him–bholi ko karnadar haru<\/em> as we say in Nepali, meaning “the flag bearers or the helmsmen of tomorrow”–as best a world as I can. Furthermore, the work I do on education, equality, social justice<\/a>, human rights etc. is to inspire the next generation to follow their own dreams and effect positive change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit to the US, I am making presentations on Human Rights and Education of Marginalized People of Nepal<\/a> to highlight  one of the number of major issues plaguing our country. Since arriving here I have already spoken at the United World College of the American West<\/a> in New Mexico and at Grinnell College<\/a>, in Iowa, my alma mater. I’ll be speaking at two more venues<\/a>: one in Washington DC on May 24 and the the other in New York City on June 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least one student who attended my presentation at the UWC-USA appears to have been inspired by my talk to write a blog post<\/a> about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from my own presentation, I also agreed to be profiled in UWC-USA Vloggers<\/a>, managed by two UWC-USA first years students, the Carolines. I talked to them about my life–what I have done, what I am doing–and what I think they, the younger generations, should do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
