I don&#8217;t know him personally; I came across him on Facebook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fundraising drive says that he decided to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/S8swDqLsHUQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">travel<\/a> after suffering from depression and almost taking his own life. On the road, he decided to help people when he realised happiness mattered more. The fundraising page has two videos, his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.helpthejourney.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a> also has a video and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.entrepreneuronajourney.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog<\/a> contained a number of posts, many of them vlogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I share with you the first the video featured in his drive partly because it features <a href=\"https:\/\/dorjegurung.com\/blog\/school-profiles\/taltuleshwori-primary-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taltuleshwori School<\/a>, the school COMMITTED is <a href=\"https:\/\/dorjegurung.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/project-update-reconstruction-of-taltuleshwori-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rebuilding<\/a>. Apparently, he lives in the village!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am aware some may wonder why I&nbsp;am featuring the story of a random guy raising funds for the reconstruction of&nbsp;houses in COMMITTED&#8217;s project site. It\u2019s simple really.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15pt\">I for one believe that it doesn&#8217;t matter who helps those in need; what matters most is that those in need are helped.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">September 7, 2017 Update<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Some time after my return to Nepal following my <a href=\"https:\/\/dorjegurung.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/a-whirlwind-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">13-month visit to the US<\/a>, I ran into Cowen&#8217;s collaborator. He, like Cowen, had spent time in the village of Thangpalkot, but was on his way back home in Europe. We exchanged contact details but I seem to have lost them and he never got in touch. On my first couple of post-quake visits to Thangpalkot in the Spring of 2016, I did see a few of the house Cowen and his team had built. Then, I stopped hearing about him and his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then some time ago, I came across, on Social Media, details of someone else who had picked up where Cowen left off.
