{"id":1831,"date":"2017-03-17T16:10:23","date_gmt":"2017-03-17T10:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dorjegurung.com\/sciblog\/?p=1831"},"modified":"2026-03-12T18:30:03","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T18:30:03","slug":"we-shall-have-music-we-shall-have-dancing-we-shall-have-great-rejoicing-in-the-air-over-a-table","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dorjegurung.com\/sciblog\/we-shall-have-music-we-shall-have-dancing-we-shall-have-great-rejoicing-in-the-air-over-a-table\/","title":{"rendered":"We Shall Have Music, We Shall Have Dancing, We Shall Have Great Rejoicing in the Air&#8230;Over a Table!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dorjegurung.com\/blog\/about-me\/curriculum-vitae-resume\/\">previous incarnation<\/a> as a high school Chemistry teacher, I would begin a topic with a multi-media PowerPoint presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives were to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>introduce the most important concept in the topic,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>get my students\u2019 imagination going,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>put the topic into wider context, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>start the topic with some\u2026laughter!!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought some teachers and students might find those presentations useful. But it might be interesting (challenging?) for you to try and figure out what I must have accompanied each&nbsp;slide with!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This presentation, was accompanied by a number of songs and also dancing to the tunes that would play at different times.
