I am a world citizen, a human being, first and foremost, passionately devoted to social justice, equality, international understanding, and world peace. As a humanist, I am devoted to and believe in humanity, as well as in the power and permanence of change, having been a beneficiary of and experienced the power of both. To me, life is a beauty and a wonder and the world an incredible and marvelous place.
My professional life reflects a deep engagement with global communities: I am an experienced International Chemistry/Science teacher, former social worker, and former teacher trainer, with a North-American accent.
My foundation spans the globe: Born into a Tibetan-Buddhist family, I completed a Jesuit schooling in Nepal, an international one in Italy, a liberal arts one in the US, and teacher-training in Australia. This cross-cultural exposure is also reflected in my hobbies: my choice of musical instrument is Australian (the Didgeridoo), my choice of sport American (Ultimate Frisbee), and my choice of dance Latin American (Merengue and Salsa).
My life is defined by movement and a love for exploration—of worlds both within and without. I have been educated in five countries, lived and/or worked in twelve, spanning five continents, and set foot in another thirty or so. Not surprisingly, I recently changed country of residence for the 20th time, and city of residence for the 21st time. Apart from being an avid traveler, I am a speaker, a birder, a bird photographer, and an amateur runner, having recently completed my first-ever half-marathon.
