On April 13, Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal made another projection about COVID-19 cases in the country. If one were to go by their past projections, this should and can be written off too. However, there is at least one confounding factor this time around.

COVID-19 Nepal Update: Government of Nepal Has Given Up

I have been tracking the Coronavirus pandemic in Nepal by keeping tracking of data about and related to it. Based on my analysis of those data, I have come to conclude that the Government of Nepal was really just pretending to fight the pandemic. Sadly, in the last few days, they appear to have given up the fight. They appear to have collapsed.

COVID-19 Nepal: Kathmandu District Sept Update

Cases in Kathmandu have been rising pretty steadily since after a week of the end of the first lockdown. As a matter of fact, they have been rising so much that the last several days they have account for about 50% of the cases in the entire country when the population of the district is less than 10%! That of course, does not bode well!

Coronavirus Pandemic in Nepal: No Strategy…So Say The Charts

If charts could speak, these charts of mine would scream, "Where is your strategy?" Five months since news of the coronavirus reached us, four since the first case of infection, and over two of lockdown, and now with the cases entering exponential growth phase, Government of Nepal still does NOT appear to have a strategy. That COULD spell a humanitarian crises in the country.
