I return to the vibrant Dragon city for the first time since the last time I lived there 18 years ago. While the city--some images of which were formulated by martial art movies I had grown up with--did not disappoint in the mid-nineties, I am curious to see what it is like now.
Summer of 2012, considering returning to Nepal for good to work in the education of children from low socioeconomic background, I visited about ten government and community school in and around Pokhara, and accompanied my good buddy Jayjeev, COMMITTED's Executive Director, on a trip to Thangpalkot. This is a video, Jayjeev made, of that trip.
Social Business for Education farming projects, once set up, will generate income for the school making it self-sufficient. In the case of Raithane School. the project is a fishery, which we setup during this visit to the village.
Some things that you feel you have to do, or you must do, or you need to do, may just be your own feeling, and therefore, if it's something you can do by yourself, you might just as well do it yourself.
