I return to the vibrant Dragon city for the first time since the last time I lived there 18 years ago. While the city--some images of which were formulated by martial art movies I had grown up with--did not disappoint in the mid-nineties, I am curious to see what it is like now.
Summer of 2012, considering returning to Nepal for good to work in the education of children from low socioeconomic background, I visited about ten government and community school in and around Pokhara, and accompanied my good buddy Jayjeev, COMMITTED's Executive Director, on a trip to Thangpalkot. Social Business for Education farming projects, once set up, will generate income for the school making it self-sufficient. In the case of Raithane School. the project is a fishery, which we setup during this visit to the village.
