FIJA appears to be a toothless non-profit organization registered in the US. It also appears to be of, for, and by the hill so-called high caste Hindus of Nepal. It purports to champion "freedom of the press" around the world. But, pathetically, one of the recent things it did was to lend support to the work of Tanka Dahal, its General Secretary, a known purveyor of misinformation. Ironically, Dahal is also a staunch monarchist. The 250-year history of the Khas-arya monarchy in Nepal was characterized by the regime stifling rights and curtailing many freedoms, including freedom of press!

Because of the LONG social, political and economic casteist history of Nepal, the hill co-called High Caste Hindus benefit from many (structural) privileges, while others are disadvantaged. But what percent in Nepal are aware of that, forget doing something actively in their everyday lives to counter their devastating impacts?
